American Pie

Missing image
Many times the heart is pulled,
with tugs from all directions,
throughout life we all feel them,
and realising the sincerity each one brings,
feeds us from within.

To be gifted by the warmth shared,
given more than could be imagined,
we seek comfort in every single morsel,
and feed our hearts with contentment,
hoping never to go hungry.

Starved of the emotions of others,
we take refuge within our minds,
and forage for all memories to feed on,
knowing that at any time,
a new meal will be offered.

Replenishing not just the heart,
but the mind, body and soul,
bringing you to understand,
that when you can share your own nourishment,
you will never go hungry within.

    This poem speaks volumes and it speaks such truth. We all need the feeling of being loved and wanted, to nourish our own selves, yet it too is just as imporant to share and feed others with the same beauty. This is a poem that I definatly wqill hold to my heart and come back time and again to read. Thank you
