I go in, make a few selections,
Wait in a long line. The person in front
Farts, belches. Dirty, unkempt, disagreeable.
People brush by me, bumping me. I check to
Make sure my wallet is still there - it is.
Finally, I get to the counter to pay for my stuff.
The clerk asks me if I found everything okay.
Thinking, 'I would have asked you if not', I simply
Utter a "yep". She rings it up, hands me the change.
I request, and get, a bag for my items. Finally,
Exiting, I dodge more people swarming in. People
Buying gas, a paper, coffee, beer, etc. People
Yelling to each other, creating a confusing cacaphony.
One thing I will say. The local convenience store
Is fairly fast. That is about all you can say for it.

Hard to rhyme today, so this is just prose. Sometimes the local quick-stop places are not this bad, but on weekends they frequently are

I have to agree with you here. There is a 7 Eleven here that I will, under great pressure, resort to shopping st late at night and no matter what time you go there, it is always busy like this. I like the prose. Best of luck to you in the contest. I appreciate your taking the time and making the effort to enter. I hope it proved to be an enjoyable experience and challenge for you.
