Mirror

Madman was I, shortsighted
A fool
Too burdened by grief,
Blinded by fear,
I poured my soul into thee,
A broken mirror
With infinite senseless reflections
Whose pieces I never cease to collect
Searching for images of something too dear,
To give me a reason to be.

Shattered slivers hurt
As they show the scenery of reality
Upheld by a dream
Colored in crimson by my own blood stream,
One’s ever leaking mortality
Flowing into rivers of sin.

Razor sharp blades cut through,
The more I fall to the other side
Having nothing to cling to,
Nowhere to reach,
Swallowed by the tide
Drowning in passion,
Drowning in thou,
Unable to breathe.

I begged thee forgiveness
For touching thy veil
Yet I need salvation
From the velvet breeze
Which pulls me between
The ocean and shores,
Two worlds apart,
The mirror’s ablaze,
I feel betrayer
Is what I have been.

The image wears thin.
