Children Scramble around the fair
looking for mom and dad
here at the farmers convention
nobody notices lost children
Destiny slips slowly down
the cheeks of lost youth
Don't worry it's your destiny
Destiny awaits nobody
And letting go for a short while
meant anyone that afternoon
Could be free.
Over the tannoid the policeman
Delivered the message
Everybody scuttled freely
because they knew
it was never their children
Who would get lost
I thanked the policeman
And offered him a
Manx knob from the
bottom of my woollen
chequered fleecy
70's style jacket
He declined but
assured me that
when I grow up
I could be in a
uniform like his.
This destiny sounded fun
But I never found anyone
to share it with,
I remember it well
snivelling, complaining,
fearful snotty nosed
dribbling at the fear
Of loosing mom & dad
It's my destiny to be
a parent and is also
my destiny to be free
But with freedom
comes no family.
The uniform never
stood the test of time
And the fashion then
was the same as it
was today. Choosing
Destiny is by far the /-------------
