October time

Walking down a long dark street
all the leaves are falling around me
the sweet scent of bark from the trees
and the mad rush from the honey bees

The crackling from the November fires
and the goul like figures of the October child
All these things remind me of the Autumn times

Crunching leaves
and foggy trees
nights coming quicker
and mornings remain cool
mmmmmmm October soon

    A great Poem here you have just painted a picture of a beautiful Autumn season and all the thrills and excitement that comes with it.

    The mad rush from the honey bees...brrrrrr, that line just gave me some creeps....

    But further your poem painted a real autumn picture to me...

    I look forward to October, too. I love seeing the children in their costumes at Halloween and by then the leaves have taken on their most splendiferous of nature's colors.

    A sad time in a way but then we're reminded of the new growth to come after Winter's rest.

    Hmmm.... I kind of wish you elaborated on each of the lines... Because each of the lines were so brief about different things... I just really wanted more of the piece of pie.

    But, the one-liners that you did give.. where really good

    oh yeah..those October goulish children dressed for halloween...it is my favorite time of year...I love halloween..perhaps my favorite holiday..good luck in the contest...
