Beguiling Tequila Sunset!

As I stare off into the horizon
of an intoxicating scene,
sipping on the elixir of my
entranced imagination,

ambrosial flavors of mandarin
orange and tangerine delight
flicker like fireflies from my eyes.

I drift along tropical islands
in a distant land yearning
for excitement and adventure.

Hypnotized by salacious appetites
of sensual pleasure,
imagining myself entwined in
silky warm flesh, coppertoned with
the ancient glow of golden sunshine.

Her moans of ecstasy draw me
to outter realms of erotic bliss,
as we tango like hotblooded lovers
in the horizontal of an electric paradise.

Our bodies seethe like molten lava
erupting from a frantic volcano,
spilling over into demonic madness.

Echoes of primal passion reverberate
through mountains and valley's
like the roaring of a lion in battle.

Our flesh reap torrential drops of
sexual fervor in the midst of
violent rages of love.

As emotions soar in flight like
flaming dragons inundate with
the wine of hellish desire,

immersed in rhapsodies transforming love
that castaway every inhibition,
leaving us illuminating as a Tequila Sunset.

    Whew!

Wow! Either you need to add a disclaimer to this baby, like "Caution! May cause palpitations and elevated body temperature", or you should really be standing at the door passing out fans for this one. Elaina

Lots of luscious words in this. I roll my tongue round them as I read. (Should that be "ambrosial" in line 5?).

If I have any criticism about this poem, it is that there are too many phrases balanced by the word "like"... we such-and-suched like a mighty so-and-so... when maybe leaving one of them as a startling and enigmatic metaphor would have done better, but that's just a personal thing for me. But I really did enjoy reading this!

    Good luck in the contest.

"we tango like hotblooded lovers"...Aren't you hotblooded lovers? It seems to belabor the obvious.

But the mental images it's creating are very...vivid. 0.o
