Upon that first step between
the whitewashed adobe buildings lining the dirt road,
one is blessed with a journey into the past for both the heart and soul.
Carefully preserved relics from the old west,
carts, stables, hacienda still so pristine, almost alive,
as if one stepped into some vivid moment of yesteryear.
But beneath the alluring charm of this prior century village,
there is a special spirit, an energy, mystical and invigorating,
it burrows inside, inspiring a lilting radiance of peace and enchantment,
until you cling to each wall, every plant and potted decor
with a passion for always wanted to hold it inside.
Beyond the intoxicating smell of refried beans
coming from the Mexican restaurants,
past the sounds of strolling singing musicians with guitars and trumpets,
one imbibes the magical ambience
while strolling through each shop,
poking through the arrays of memorabilia and crafts,
feeling their essence sharing the resonance of their treasures.
By night another climate possess the town
when amber spotlights ignite alabaster auras upon the structures,
appearing as icebergs rising above a black sea of night.
It was when the wind, so warm and soothing,
carries a wisp of strange and eerie chill,
noticing a white misty blur out at the corner of eye,
hair on the back of neck tingles,
body nearly flinches from knowing something strange
just moved through the shadows.
What a blend is this marvelous realm of serenity and history
pouring over the mind in soothing waves of stirring sway,
having so many secrets trapped in the pages of time.
To walk its streets it to be engulfed in another world,
feasting happily and fully upon the foods for both body and curiosity.
A place to lose oneself in tranquil paces beyond cares
taking home some cherished memories and perhaps a ghost.

That was a great description. And a dummy like me can read it without a dictionary. I love it.
