Destiny is what life has in store for you,
what is written in The Book by your name.
The things we do to get there may change,
but your story will end up the same.
As a lad I was sure I’d do great things,
visions of riches and fame I could see.
I was sure that somewhere down the road,
the whole world pay homage to me.
My life would be filled with greatness,
everyone would stoop and bow.
Imagine my life’s disappointment,
sitting here looking at me now.
There was never fame nor fortune,
no mansions or dressing up formal.
I dress comfortable in Levi’s and boots,
guess my destiny was just to be normal.

Let me pay homage to you for all you sacrificed for serving your country and asking nothing in return. It was a great thing you did, not for yourself but for your fellow man. Nothing is more honorable then that.
