Malice seems too improbable of nature.
But ah! how humbling indifference.
So surely as our world shudders
And crumbles around us,
it is a shrug, a tremble,
A shudder of disgust,
As our Bearer shifts, to remind us of our goal.
Blindly we strive,
Forgetting how soothing our mortality lies
On the banality of life.

Exactly, our survival as well as our satisfaction depends on finding that "banality" of life. If we didn't, we would be defenseless, in a way, among our own. People could tear us down (and would to suit their purposes) and take whaever we had (including our self respect and esteeem).
Great write, sometimes the truth isn't exactly what we want to find, but it is still something to be found.

ooo, loved reading. felt like i was groping in a dark tunnel or soemthing. esp loved "blindly we strive/forgetting how soothing our mortality lies"
if i were to change anything would be the second line... it has no verb, yet you punctuate it as a sentence. the momentary confusion takes away from the flow. other than that, brilliant work! -
Very Good
Can we truely go through all of our life with a shrug of indifference. I'm sure there are some out there like that but I'm hoping the majority of humanity has specific goals in mind. Nice piece. Keep up the good writes. Take care,
Michael
