Derelict Adolescence

Metallic words gain no luster
upon your putrid lips.

But daggers graze my silkweed skin
petrifying the livid phrase "Love, Hope, Live".

As it is to be eternally borne
to memorialize this day.

So I will evoke,
every abysmal year,
the fidelity that you stole away.

  • Well-deserved gold even though I can't see the picture.
I love the texture of your words. Filled with emotion.

    Beautifully ugly. Well done!

NB -- Dark Red on black is a bit hard to read, at least on my screen.

Darkly done... in keeping with the prompt. I love the feelings you evoke with your words... the bitterness which explain the mutilation and the memories... very well done! Best of luck...
