For the Honor

There is no price for honor, honor is free
it comes from within strong hearts
it binds a contract with its bearer
never broken, never compromised

There is no practice for bravery
it comes from within the soul
it binds a contract with its bearer
always ready, always vigilant

There is no answer to why
it comes in place of explanation
it grips us with a need to understand
always wondering, never satisfied

There is no end to hope, hope is eternal
it comes from knowing miracles exist
it fills our hearts with a belief
that nothing is impossible

God Bless

I liked that. Honer comes from self respect and respect for others. Thats why some jump on a gernade to save their comrads. There is a bond between the men you fight for that you can't explane. Taking care of one another..
    Loved the poem.

    Hmmm

I face the granite wall my fingers trace names long lost.
I'v got my m-16 in my hands and I'm in La Drang Valley (Death Valley). Bodies flyin' blood everywhere. Tears streaking it's so loud you can't think. Jesus...help me.
