The moonlight shines brightly
giving the only light
that I play by.
As I play
drumming lightly upon my instrument
I begin to wonder
how is it that I find myself here
when I would wish to be somewhere else?
My music
pauses as I hit the wrong cord
it's eerie sounds come
threatening to spill over into
the darkness that has entered my Soul.
How is it that I find myself here
when I would wish to be somewhere else?
My thoughts
turn into a deep,
dark depression.
I hurt. The pain of our separation
is something I can no longer hide.
I fear that it will consume me.
My Soul it hungers
for your gentle touch.
I yearn to feel your passion
as it builds slowly
only to ignite into a burning flame.
How is it that I find myself here
when I would wish to be somewhere else?
And why is it that you, my love
are not here beside me
as you have promised to always be.

Firstly let me tell you it is an honour to have you as my sister
The poem, sensational, your angle on the pic is such a joy to read, you capture the picture and then take the reader beyond it into the realms of your imagination. The layout of the poem is inspiring. The first stanza a seductive intro and then you twist emotion and take us into a dark journey of sadness and loss played out on your tune. Fantastic , thank you for entering

Thank you for commenting. I am glad that you like it. I wasn't sure it was a spur of the moment write. When Gd66uk asked me to enter... well I wasn't sure I could do it. I don't do prompts all that well sometimes. Glad that you liked what came of it. I appreciate the comment.
