I’ve rummaged through my suitcase
hoping to find something like wings
and something like a mind-relaxant.
I need to escape from you
or someday you’ll get away
with the murder of my heart.
ii.
I’ve held a little red cushion
embroidered with gold tassles
close to my chest for so long
I don’t know if I’m ready to let it go.
but the strings are untangling
and intertwining with something like bricks
that were expelled from your soul.
iii.
and now all my thoughts have become reality
all my nightmares have just been thrown into my face.
I’m stuck alone in a white room
with chipped paint on walls
and a wooden door with scratch-marks
dug deep into the core.
I’m lying alone on a bed with a machine
hooked up to my chest
trying to find a pulse
that doesn’t exist.
it’s been stolen, my worst nightmare.
iv.
I’ve held onto hope for so long
I thought it would soon fade
facilitating into nothing more
than a reminder of you.
v.
the white room is burning up,
the machine is melting from the heat,
the fire is raging within me.
I’m done growing older.
I’m stuck in a hole deeper than addiction
and I can’t get out no matter how hard I try.

I’m finished.

I really love this. It's so beautifully written and the emotions are so vivid and real, I can feel the sadness and pain. I can really relate to the feelings in this. I love the way that you write and the way that you word everything. Brilliant job doll.
