September 21

That September was bringing relief
from the scorching wake of summers
and was teaching the augmenting weeks
to create a pastel mishmash
of crunchy flora.

Whilst the summer flowers
prepared to sleep through the winter,
a September-soul emerged from God's rays
to hold the summer-bud of my soul
firmly against his chest
and made me blossom
for all the months till eternity,
embracing me in the aura
of his dedicated love.

Author notes

This poem is dedicated to my love.
His birthday is on 21st September.

September-soul : he was born in September.
Summer-soul : I was born during the summers.

Very nice! I like the references to seasons changing, and then the "blossom" you became. Excellent work poet, very soothing to read and enjoy.

What a compelling read. It was very lovely and had its own creative style, which flowed from the pen. The last stanza was simply beautiful! Well done! Good luck in the contest!
