We Learn

IXI

WE ALL MUST LEARN TO CHANGE

we learn to eat
we learn to drink
we learn to stand
we learn to think
we learn to make
we learn to destroy
we learn the difference
between girl and boy
we learn to ask
to learn to understand
we learn to identify
we learn to brand
we learn to fear
we learn to kill
we learn to run
we learn to be still
we learn to win
we learn to lose
we learn to laugh
we learn to choose
we learn to write
to dance and to sing
we learn to let go
and ignore everything
we learn to remember
and learn to forget
we learn to maintain
we learn not to fret
we learn to grow old
we yearn to be free
learning to learn
we learn to foresee
we learn that with love
comes inner resolve
we learn to change things
we learn to evolve
and with out this learning
our world will dissolve
so learn to keep up
and help us revolve

Great poem about how when we grow stupid and forget everything. We learn so much for us to have the world be so complicated! Thank you for entering!

    "we learn to change things

    This is great.
More people need to learn and change.
The dumbing down of our society is just holding us back from accomplishing great things.
Thanks for your entry and good luck!

An intriguing piece; I had to read twice. There is always something we all must learn; to do, to feel, too see, etc.

I like the repetition and simplicity helped get the point across.

    Welcome to Allpoetry

This shows real interest and truth in all that we learn as people.
However, it is very repetitive int he "we learn" over and over
Another way to do it may be:
"We learn to eat and drink,
stand and think" so on and so forth

Also, the chat lingo in the title is off putting.

You make valid, interest points I just feel that they could be put across clearer.

Welcome to Allpoetry and I hope that you enjoy your stay
Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask me

Thank you for your input. I have gotten rid of the "chat speak". I guess i dont really go on chats so i didnt know this was common practice. I just happen to be infatuated...almost haunted by the number 33. I try to use it whenever I feel it necessary. The repetition does serve a purpose in binding the poem with a loose theme. We do use repetition as a tool for learning. Thank you once again for your time.
