Tell me a poem;
my heart is empty and I
feel like crying even though the sky
above shows not one single cloud
I want to feel at peace
in this pleasant breeze
like the duck flapping feathers in
shade beneath the air conditioner
Or the cat contently licking his fur;
I notice how the pathos leaves
continue to climb the old tree
growing large as each can be
In spite of periodic dry patches and holes;
after a while, 'begins to dawn upon me
that I am standing in the midst of a rainbow
The duck who's red and white and chocolate,
yellow stars in the grass, curled
croton leaves tinted cranberry,
'couple roses, a few small irises
White hair sprouting from ears
of the smoky gray cat;
I begin to hear a little bird that
starts to sing the poem I wished for
And as the kitty naps,
now I spot a shady place
for myself to relax as well.
It pleases me how nature can be
a seemingly random yet
carefully crafted scene.
Author notes
"...each of them, though it stands
in a crowd of many,
like a separate universe,
is lonely, the long work
of turning their lives
into a celebration
is not easy. Come
and let us talk with those modest faces,
the simple garments of leaves..."

I particularly liekd this verse;
"my heart is empty and I
feel like crying even though the sky
above shows not one single cloud"
as we always seem to associate sadness/depression with rainy days and gray clouds - nicely done on teh turn here!
-

Emmet, the Emu wants you to know
he loves and appreciates your
poetic descriptions of creatures
that look as strange as he,
as well as the color you bring
to your page. He likes smooches
but realizes you may not find
him very attractive!!!!!!!!!!
