Shall I wake to find
my dream was a dream
of a dream?
The early morning news
delivers global misery
a news boy (dream boy) eases more,
dog snapping his fingers,
through the letterbox.
Toast popping
coffee on the boil
Hurricane Ike,
floods, devastation,
Arthur my hungry cat awaits
a dish of food, a cosy bed,
and lives his dream
of ruler of the house.
The day (dream) awaits.
I'd best get on because
I'm living not the dream
I'd choose to live,
In fact I think I may be
someone else's dream.
A minor player they will
struggle to recall
when they awake.
And, dream or not
I'll feed the cat
and wonder what to do
about the misery
this day's reality
delivered.

Excellent imagery within this well written composition.
The opening lines with the words
"Shall I wake to find
my dream was a dream
of a dream?" drew me right into this read.--Very Clever
