Catharsis

There is no comfort in this passion
As the delightful agony filters across the room
This man caresses my body and I move under the weight
Time after time he
Breathes on my neck
Strokes my spine
Opens my mind
I show him more than I have seen
But I am a silhouette against the wall.
I do not need his eyes or his smile
‘tis his understanding tongue, his agile wrist which soothe me
encourage me
excite me
show me all the quintessence of the world
I know it is there to be found as my eyes roll back in my head
I cannot do anything for him but together
I grow.

This is beautifully expressed. I love the image of agony filtering across a room. Like a shadow passing.. a sun setting.. You woke my brain up today..

quintessence - I know I'm meant to be doing a degree in English but that does not mean that you may confuse me with such crazy words.
This is an amazing poem, ignore what some may say, you know you are a great writer, much better that I could ever be, your vocabulary thrills me and I aspire to be more like you. Well done Jo, I'm so pleased you're back. x

as always it is a pleasure to see either one of such a talented and special couple create something so beautiful about something so beautiful.
(i sound pretentious and stupid, but i really am stunned by the power you wield with your words)
