I belong to Glasgow...

I have just come back from Glasgow
The city I once came from
I left there many years ago
Long before my very first poem

I travelled the width of Scotland
From west to eastern coast
In search of work and family
Those things I love the most

The place where I have settled
Has been good and kind to me
Its blessed with rural countryside
Yet not far from the sea

But when I visit Glasgow
Memories come thick and fast
Its not the worst place I have been
It certainly wont be the last

Author notes

I am just back home in Fife, Scotland after visiting with my sister in the city...and I loved it!

Thanks for sharing your memories of this most interesting city. I'd really like to learn more about it, myself... And I'd like to thank you for taking the time to enter my contest, 'Images From Around the World' with your beautifully thought-provoking poetry. The imagery was perfect for this piece! Judging will be done soon, and I wish the best of luck to you!! Thanks again, and have a great day!!! Take care, Cyn

      Thanks Dolores

My wee sister Fran has started a new theatre company..its called 'The mad mental theatre company' and she invited me to her first venue..it was simply wonderful!...I know she will go on to bigger and better things with it!...and I watched her in her role in the movie 'Red Road' a film that portrays life in the city of Glasgow!...I enjoyed that too!
Thanks for commenting Dolores..Ive missed talking to you...love and best wishes...Dan xxx
