Ode to a Fairy

Missing image

Waking fairy of the night

As dawn comes upon you

At first light, it awakens

You from night's eerie gloom

To sunbeams energizing round!

 

 

As the morn you radiate

Love for all life around

Would partake, all attracted

Close to thee whether animals

Of forest or humans to see

 

 

Wings of translucent beauty

Sparkling with sunshine radiating

Bringing glows to your auburn hair

And your cheeks so rosy

Nature's pride you are fair!

 

 

Dearest fairy of the wood

Kindly take our thanks

For should we ever need

Your love and care

We know you are here!

    I apoligise. I am not saying you are a bad poet. But I found the subject of this poem to be very cliche.

    I really loved that.
    'Wings of translucent beauty

    Sparkling with sunshine radiating

    Bringing glows to your auburn hair'
    That was my favourite part. Very descriptive and beautifully written

    Dear Slayer, I do thank you for the honor of the silver in this contest. It is one of my first poems on fairies, and the picture really inspired me..It was a joy to write with this inspirational prompt!
