I see you in my dreams but you always disappear before sunrise.
When will the day come that I finally meet you?
You’re always leaving,
but always return before I go to sleep at night.
My dreams stay with me, yet you steal them away.
Taking the memories of you, so I don’t remember your face.
Now you’re back again,
silent dreams all night.
Never remembering your face, but recognizing you.
The sweet scent of you, I breathe it all in.
The sight of you is all I don’t remember.
But I always wait for the night to come,
so I will see you again, but then you disappear all over.
Into the sunrise do you ride.
Leaving me behind, taking my heart as well.
Author notes
A poem I found while clearing out my computer. I had been pretty young when I wrote it, but I remember what I had based it off of.
I had been having dreams of someone taking me away from all my problems but when I woke up, I never remembered the face of the person.
