Duet of Life

I'd dance away if not for the wind blowing in my face
but the wind is worth all the trouble
so I cling tight
silk and smooth
to the world I've known
friendly faces I try so hard to trust,
so hard to know
but then I see the good intentions within them
like a look into the mirror
I almost knew everything
and at the same time nothing
like stars that twinkle,

there's more behind it all and more to see
more than will ever be seen
maybe that's all it will ever be
unseen to us
unseen to everyone

but the sights I see in the eyes of others
is enough to last me a lifetime
a trip to the other side of the world and back
through their eyes
through their hearts
the lights in their eyes
a fire
fireworks

the life beyond
so beautiful
purple blue waterfalls
hailed with light
so wonderous
snow falls in darkness

a purity never emulated
except in the hearts and minds of the good souls
souls with nothing
nothing but new life
nothing to taint them
nothing to make them cry
nothing to make them anything more than pure and clean

So pure
smooth and pearly
beauty and rareness
perfection
ready to be molded
into a monster
or peaked
depending on your perception
but what is perception, but the image presented by the media?
or the images imprinted within?

what is the truth?
what is lie?
truth we need to learn to accept with our capabilities
lies we create to fill up holes
to fill up what we think is lost
when really it is only new

the lies we create to fool ourselves
the truth that we need to see
the real truth unbearable
sometimes the best way is the most painful
sometimes we have to give in, hold ourselves through it all
and live

sometimes we cannot get through it alone
and in those times, we hold tight to others
we become the foundation together, to build the higher ground
we create a life worth living
truly we are magnificent
but we are blinded by our own arrogance
we need to be strong and this strongness brings us to life
even more so than you would think

the life created a life magnificent
the life reflected in the stars
the places we will never lay eyes upon
the life so pure so beautiful

Author notes

I wrote this with someone else, so it's not totally mine. We made it over an aim conversation, so sorry if there are any weird things.

Anything that can help me make it better..Title?

there is soooooooo much in this poem...

it kinda made my head hurt, like when i first read a beat poem by the great Allen Ginsberg.

this is so much like his work, one of his lines popped into my head,

    "What's in between thoughts?"

I think that popped into my head because you asked what truth was, and what lie is.

    I like it.

    Well done

I wrote it on an aim conversation with someone else. We were just kinda going back and forth, that's why there's soooo much. Hmm, Ginsberg. I haven't read any of his stuff. I'll probably look at it when I get a chance
