this is a very very nice I love your co lours and the fact that this is able to have text over it without it being over powerful. :) this is very well made I think using your own pictures is better it looks much more your own. I especially like the pictures of the fruit and plants on the side border it adds to the rich colors :) thank you for entering *hug*

Creativity~ 19.4 I like this, it isn't boring and it isn't a common theme for autumn so thank you for not doing something common.

Blending~ 19.0 nicely blended nearly seamless but I can see the line transmitting from border to background.

Colors~ 19.7  I love the verity and contrast of all the colors in this. not over powering and yet it is subtle and smooth! great job!

Originality~ 19.4 Very nice! is so original and luscious, i love it.

    Legability[readable with text]~ 20.0 Great job!

    Lost Vampyre Angel's score: 97.5

This is very creative, I do like how you've gone with a different side of autumn. The border is a nice size, not to wide Colour wise is it subtle, with a small splash of pink, nicely done I like the pink a lot
I do agree with the other judges, the main body could use fading a little more. Bear can be quick, he's caught me out a couple of times to
For the most part the fading is perfectly done, just the line under the pears could use blending a little more. Seam is almost invisible, good job there Overall I think this is very creative, you haven't gone with the norm and you have put a lot of thought into it

Creativity ~ 18.9, not the norm, I like that

    Blending ~ 19.4, almost seamless.

    Colours ~ 19.8, I like the colours.

Originality ~ 19.4, not seen one like this before

    Title/Rules ~ 18.7, rules fine, title a little cliche.

    Total ~ 96.2

Thanks for the nice comment and high points. I just love to use my own photos for my graphic creations. This one needed a bit work here and there, but it was already so late at night and as you said, Arkbear is fast.

    Hi Titia!
I'd know you work anywhere. It's like coming home.
The border works well here. I get a sense right away that fall is coming from the browning leaves and flower. I like the grey wood grain background on the border as well, and that the border at times bleeds into the background.
I find this original in that you didn't choose the prettiness of fall but the reality of twigs, leaves and rotting fruit on the ground - what you'd find in any orchard. The background strikes me as a tad busy for optimal "font friendliness" with the "regular" font. It's much better with the bold font. Perhaps with a bit less contrast and more fading, it would have worked better

    1. design/composition 19.1

    2. originality(of concept) 19.5

    3. color(compatibility) 19.6

    4. execution 19.3 difficult layering of images, no obvious seam in background
    (effects/clarity/resolution/seamless)

    5. legibility 17.8
(readability/sufficient contrast between type and background.)

    TOTAL 95.3

Thanks for the comment. I agree with what you wrote. I thought I had the time to change it next morning, but Arkbear was too fast with his comment, LOL, when I sleep you guys are all awake.

This is very nice. I like the fact that your border is bright and colorful, but your background is faded to make it easier to see writing on it.
You did a lovely job with your photos. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks aboomer for your nice comment on my beginning of Fall. I would've faded the background more if Arkbear hadn't beaten me to it with his fast comment and so I couldn't change it anymore.

    Hello

Gosh, how pretty....and to think, your talent was only a click away from me....

                                     ....very nice ~

The best thing I like about this piece of Art, is your ability to combine areas of growth ~

The apples on a tree ~

    The dried mustard, from a perennial.....at least I think it's a mustard? ~

    The leaf with rust....hehe ~

...and I believe, but not sure, the Sweet Pea from another perennial variety?

However, the Background is what surprised me, as it was subtle, yet affective for this weeks Theme ~

Crunchy leftover mulch, with a drying lemon....looks like a small squash still attatched to a stem, or is that a green tomato?

.....and maybe there is a half of a tomato with seeds ready to seed themselves?

On the flip side of this, the transition from Border, to Background, is a tad....wham!

I am not an expert on creating this type of Art, but I sure appreciate an Artist who can make it seem easy, and you have done that here ~

Over-all, affective & fitting for this Theme,

    ....good luck and God bless

    Bear ~

Title....17.5...A tad Cliche', yet works ~

Colours...18.8...I enjoyed the colours....it's not your usual Golds, Yellows, Reds & Bronzes ~

Creativity...16.5...I think...maybe, one more pic inserted into Border....the Pink comes around too often....IMO ~

Presentation...17.0...The Pink was a tad too bright?

First Impression...19.0...Not your usual Fall Colours ~

    Bears Score:  88.8

    Nice job

No editing once a Judge has touched your work ~

Thanks for your excellent comment. Theme was 'the beginning of Fall' and as it is the beginning of September, mother nature doesn't show the orange/brown colours yet. All is still very green overhere. The background shows fallen apples which I share with the insects. I take the good ones, they can have the rotten ones.
Top pic in the border are stewing/cooking pears, the pink one is a bush called Cardinal's Hat, because its seeds look like the hat of a cardinal. The brown one is a flower that looks like a big yellow daisy, which turns brown when the seeds are falling down and the leaves come from the pear tree.
You're right about the transition from border to background. Plan was to make it a bit less wham this morning, because it was very, very late last night, but you guys beat me to it with judging.

Ya know, I was going to say Bishops Hat, instead of Cardinals Hat, as the Bishops Hat is more tappered at the top....but I did not know if it grew this time of year where you are......lovely job no less

        Good luck!

        Bear ~

very imaginative. I like the background itself because it reflects the border and is also very font friendly.
