I wake in the night
in my sister's guestroom
and sit up with alarm.
Did I remember their water?
Did I open the window
so they won't suffocate?
Will Angie remember to feed them?
Will the two of them fight?
Surely never to the death?
Next day, I unlock my door.
Alice the tabby runs towards me
and black Pandora murmers
and looks at the food dish.
They are well and happy to see me
though black Pandora is trying not to be.
Author notes
These are the two I miss in the night.

Lovely Poem
You have penned a lovely poem about your beloved pets. We do worry about them when they are away from us. You take care. Sandy

Aww...it's hard not to worry about our pets when we leave them for a while. I don't have pets but I worry about my brother's cat when he leaves for a while. Love the feeling in this piece and the clear way you delineate your fears.
