Between dinner and nightfall, I sail

I sailed to the horizon
to see the sun
setting its day
on the tiny ocean line

I watch how lights changed from bright
to dark tones
as the silence buried
the afternoon

then the ocean stopped moving
and only an immense saudade
was left within me

Saudade... Such beautiful words that can give those happy, yet sad feelings at the same time...

I hate it actually, I don't know how to handle them I never could... and probably never will.

It seems to fit today. Here's hoping the trip eases that feeling, or gives room to happiness.

    Yeah, I'm done.

Oh and that word pops out. I read this and on a whim I too travelled to the ocean, I was disappointed for the sign said, "Come back at sunrise or journey to the other side. Silly man." ---- You write with beauty, hold the imagination; Ms Mari. --- Thank you.

I read this and I have to read your Column Saudade...which made me smile...

This is truly truly deep Mari. I have learned something new here... ah! Saudade...it is something intrinsic; deeply rooted within us yet undefined...and only our hearts know what it is...but a smile on our face that came from it...is the sign of approval that we know...as we just let it be...we don't need to understand it; we just have to feel it.

This is something to smile about before I go to sleep...

a dear friend, relative, someone close, and when they leave us we can find them in feelings ...in a sunset, in light upon water... and a deep feeling of something that will never be seen again... sunsets, because no matter how beautiful we can never have them back again... beautiful poetry...Saudade...h

From recent reading, it seemed a saudade
was so sad, hopeless, looking to the past.

But then I read this gem
and feel the time stopping swell,
    almost unexplainable.

    This "sail" is art!

    I can borrow from this...and I will.

I mean the tone, and the immensity within...you won't even know it when I steal it.

Simplicity...it expresses so easily, that I need to learn. will see...and how to express emotion in symbolism...will steal that too,

Excellent, a very impressive write. It's rich in visual beauty as well as the feeling, the texture of a saudade.
This inspires me to write a saudade

    A wonderful piece of pioetry
