You attracted me like a magnet
there was nothing I could do,
you were the fire that lit my fuse
I can't help it, I was hooked.
You told me you belonged to another
and that we could never be,
so now I've become your kryptonite
left in my solitary icy world.
Yet my soul yearns for you everyday
just a glimpse of you and I'm gone,
your very smile hypnotises me
I'm hooked, I just can't help it.
You turn away and the knife digs deep
as my heart weeps tears of blood,
when I'm near to you I'm just poison
yet you've become my reason for living.
In desperation I'll watch from afar
you're like a drug that sweetly flows through all of me,
yet to you I'll always be kryptonite
but I can't help it, I'll always be hooked.

this was a good take on the title prompt.
You attracted me like a magnet
there was nothing I could do,
you were the fire that lit my fuse
I can't help it, I was hooked.

I can feel this one. It's something I've gone through so many times. It is so odd how our emotions can take us over and put us through such tortures for the feelings we develop for someone out of grasp.
