Saudade Life

I fear to open the door
his memory is in my heart
even after twenty years
of lonely sorrow has passed,
I need not any more lover
leave me be...
I am stronger than
a basketball guard
protecting my basket
from being a case,
leave me be ...

in saudade, safe

from man's arms
for another pain
as my husbands death
will isolate me, forever

I think this is the worst kind of saudade. So very painful and keeps on hurting even when fading. The great pain is eventually replaced by a softer saudade, and that is when we smile at the memories left.

Thanks for the read and good luck with all you do

Did someone mention basketball? You got my attention there for sure.

It's that constant pull, one side wants more, the other has had enough. That which has the fond memories holds on, knowing that despite it's suggestion, it wants more...but wants it from the source that is forever lost...the husband. If it were me, I'd want to be isolated too.
