At night, when I lay down to sleep
with thoughts my mind will fill.
But, I ask only for pictures
that I might see her still.
Images of the times we shared,
the walks we took, for hours.
on wooded paths or through the fields,
where she would pluck the flowers.
Or pick ripe berries from the vines,
for pies she made for me
and all the times we danced till dawn,
she was so fine to see
At times I'll see her in my arms,
and longings rip my heart,
to catch a glimpse of how it was,
before she did depart.
Some mornings I still wake and think
she's lying next to me,
then turn to find an empty space,
collapse in agony.
She's with another love these days,
and I must let her go,
though memories paint a teary haze,
for I still love her so.

Congratulations on the Gold Trophy.
this is a haunting poem, that's how I interpenetrated it, it's always hard to move on after someone we love has found another. it seems harder especially if we still love them.. You've captured those emotions extremely well through out this poem.
Again Congratulations on the Gold, well deserved.
