Blue
like crystal water
right before its calm was broken
by a tumult of laughing children
Yellow
like the golden sun
who smiled upon them
warming their faces
Red
like frozen cherry Popsicles
and sticky fingers
and colored mouths
Green
like glittering scales
on a lazy school of fish
swimming idly nearby
Purple
like the gentle sunset
who bids farewell
to summer adventures
These were the colors
she wove for them
to keep them warm
when the world was
White

Thank you for this very pleasant surprise

I find this to be quite soothing. I very much like the way it all comes together in the last stanza.
Thanks for entering
