I took a walk outside today
my little dog came out with me
the summer sun cut through the gray
presenting something grand to see
My little dog came out with me
she danced her dance along the trail
greeting each wren with bounding glee
and smiled a smile from head to tail

and hints of fall were everywhere
bright, autumn hues all on display
while songbirds painted too the air
Presenting something grand to see
the wandering trek left me so glad
my silly little pooch and me
oh what a happy time we had
