The invitation came by post, a party had been planned
to celebrate a very special day,
a little girl who would be five, she thought it would be grand
with lots of food and games for friends to play.
The picnic hampers packed with birthday food for us to eat
she even has a very special cake,
if all her friends would kindly like to come and take their seat
we’ll see what kind of fun that we can make.
Aneka’s a Princess who has such a pretty face
and looking like a princess really should,
the party’s at her Grannys and it’s such a special place
it should be fun, ‘cos birthdays are so good.
Don’t forget to wear your crown silver, gold or green
the royal party will begin at two,
with presents for the Princess, the best she’s ever seen
the biggest smile she’ll give as she thanks you.
And when the party’s over and it’s time for all to go
she’ll curl up on her special Barbie bed,
with all her birthday presents and the cards she’ll put on show
and dream again, her day inside her head.
