Up in her tower amongst the rubble
she sits and waits for a lover to transcend and make the effort
but alas such wishing proves fruitless
and she finds herself once more alone
Here where nothing more than shattered mirrors
and scaly creatures bestow their unending friendship
for they see nothing more than the bare skin
criss crossed with white lines
For desolate eyes craving to be touched and love
lash out at all who would dare to draw too close
to the open fire that is her very broken heart
and tears, how they continue to fall over and over
Alone in her tower she waits, amongst the rubble and lies
riding the metal trap to a furthered hard life
for she tears at her boundaries and pushes til death seems to linger
for nothing more than the continuous occupation of the mind shall ease her
So many pass through and she wishes to speak
but mind and heart battle over which is more keen
the hopes to be heard and loved and noticed
or the destruction of being ignored and pushed aside once more

I liked this a lot, It created some wonderful broken fairytale type images in my mind. I thought you really conveyed the emotions really well and the feeling of wanting to be rescued is something that I am sure many can relate to. The last stanza for me was great, it really captured that contradiction of feelings which I know so well and I felt it was a wonderful ending to a great piece. Good work x
