I have walked in this forest many times
The clouds usually shading any light the trees may miss
A darkness that I don't often dare to tread
for out here its easier to believe what can really exist
But there are days, like the one I will never forget
where the brightness of the sun shone through
and my eyes opened for what seemed like the first time
because it was the first time, I truly saw you
even when I see it shrouded in darkness
in my mind I can so clearly picture the light
the light that leaves with you whenever you go
and casts my world forever into the night
I am well aware of the dangers that lurk in the shadows
but I will not run or scream, or even turn away
because I understand this fate that I have chosen
and that I may be no more then just a predators prey
but what I hope that you will come to comprehend
is that you are not a hindrance, but a star of my very own
a light that can guide me through the darkest forest
to find my way back to you, to find my way back home
