Your Haunting Melody

Missing image

Fingers that once tickled keys to your life's piano

now sit idle, unmotivated to move on ~

only your refrain plays in my soul...

Your haunting melody lingers,

coursing through my soul like a ghost ~

subtle nuances ring in moments of silence,

stirring memories of when you --

May my heartbeat be your song's rhythm,

forever keeping time with your spirit's lyric.

Author notes

Option D, photobucket

Note: Stanza 2's sharp ending ( "when you --" )is intentional...fill in the blank, the memory of the departure (death, more likely) does not want to escape into words...

no, not lisa...this story is in remembrance of someone who passed, keeping their memory alive. not based on anyone in particular, just what i felt from the prompt.
