I find it hard to bring words to mind,
The love we share between us,
Is far greater than i thought i'd find.
Your smile was my salvation,
Those eyes were my new life,
Your body was my new temple,
I am proud to become your wife.
You renewed my faith in mankind,
Brought joy to cover my pain,
Gave light to the darkness in my heart,
And a cover to keep off the rain.
From this day till the end,
I pledge to give all i can,
To return the love you have shown,
Since the moment our love began.
Author notes
Well i am pagan to and so i understand the handfasting ceremony.
I love the idea of writting my own vows and a friend of mine who was recently married wrote her own and a poem i wrote for her partner and her was read allowed at the ceremony.
I hope this is ok and up to standards.
I have no desire to get married and if i ever go crazy enough to find someone i want to spend the rest of my life with it will be a handfasting ceremony not a legal wedding.
I never did get the idea of why people need a piece of paper to say the love each other.
Anyway good luck with the contest and i hope you get some good pieces.
