Dry tongue wrapped around
her devil-red heart,
I'm hopelessly in love.
Fighting with a passion;
my soul as my sword,
blind hope in
my hands:
fresh air to breathe.
She just sits in the driving seat,
shallow grin etched
deep into her face.
She holds all the cards,
I grasp at a shrinking hope.
But before I let more tears
spill from these dry eyes,
My desperate voice in its most angelic pitch
will send out a final plea.
~~~~~~~~
Anyone with heart remaining,
anyone with soul:
join my fight, lets form an entente;
we can make this sun shine again.
Oh this was deeply powerful and full of emotion. Beautifully penned piece! I just noticed one small spelling error in the first stanza;
"toungue" --should be "tongue"
Great job!
Thanks for entering & best of luck
