She closes her eyes
Turns away from the sunrise
Holds her hands out to the fireflies…
They have faded into the morning
Tears fall in delicate ribbons down her gentle face
So rife and twisted with truth, she turns again;
This time she faces the sky
As elegantly; as graceful as the tides
Her fingers, long and slender, dig into the sand
There’s a ring on her finger, a wedding band
And she breathes in the ocean air they prayed that they would…
Forever keep sacred
And the sun breaks, like her heart across the water
Her memories a montage of a receding forever
Blue eyes in a shattering ball of crystal
As the heart stops, the wind rips through her ghost
And leaves the locket of trust, as sapphire as the sea
Upon a wayward coast.

Beautiful poem. As always, your imagery is incredible; you can see the poem as it happens. It leaves you on a sad note, with little resolution apparent, but in capturing that mood, it does very well.
