Snow White Queen

It's never enough to say I love you,
You'll make me prove it tonight.
I'll answer you with a seductive grin
Just to avoid a conflict.

Tie me down and beat the walls,
You'll never have my love.
Smile at me while you threaten my life,
I'll look the other way.
Carve my arms with you raging fear,
You'll never have my respect.
But leave me standing alone in the rain,
I'll always call you back.

I can't escape your damning voice,
It's even in my dreams.
All the fighting, all the screaming,
They terrify my thoughts.

Batter me and beat me down,
You'll never have my love.
Whisper lies I know are false,
I'll look the other way.
Cut my heart out with your words,
You'll never have my respect.
But walk away and don't look back,
I'll always call you back.

What's she done for you?
You treat her like a queen.
When every night I'm still here,
Still calling out your name.
She comes and goes only for the job.
I'll die if I defy you.

Risk my life and call me names,
You'll never have my love.
Lie to me, tell me you love me,
I'll look the other way.
Break my will and bend me down,
You'll never have my respect.
But pay her with your love of love,
I'll never call you back.

As always, dear, your poems leave me breathless. You did very well on expressed emotions. One thing, though. The "don't look back, I'll always call you back" thing could use some tweaking. Otherwise, wonderful write. I'm assuming this is about Paul?

WOW! hectically intense emotion pervades this piece. I can feel the anger and the hurt that pours from your words in torrents. Very well written, your imagery is incredibly powerful and I love the small repetitions of certain lines, they really add a wonderful impact to your stanzas. Thank you for sharing this, and all the best in the contest,

    Luck.
