On my floating island
A whirlwind of silent
Furnished in a cell I hide
Wrapped in chaos inside
Living in this harness
In deliberating darkness
I do not beg for deliverance
But sustain with perseverance
External to this storm
I live a life at norm
But yet to be released
I have ceased
To live as a human being
Silent and sober, not to be seen.
A whirlwind of silent
Furnished in a cell I hide
Wrapped in chaos inside
Living in this harness
In deliberating darkness
I do not beg for deliverance
But sustain with perseverance
External to this storm
I live a life at norm
But yet to be released
I have ceased
To live as a human being
Silent and sober, not to be seen.

full to the brim with words and thoughts of lonliness that really answers the contest brief.sounds like you know what it is like to be lonely.
-
this is very deep
silence, we find ourselves in places where we don't feel ourselves, as if something is missing, we go through the motions because that is what is expected of us.
I remember this feeling well
and beautifully expressed
quite a pleasure to read
God bless you my friend...

"I have ceased/to live as human being." That's pretty extreme.
You seem to be talking about the difference between outside appearances and what goes on inside. I especially like "living in this harness", which sounds like you are living some horrible routine" which you feel you must "sustain with perserverance." It's quite an original write.
Thank you for entering my contest. -
Well Written

very well written
Speaks of a lost soul or someone "at sea" "adrift" but wanting to live the way he or she wants to - like the "floating island"

-
-
The depth you can see is profound! Excellent insight to what I've tried to convey. I might have to change the "silent" to "violent" shouting my inner soul
Thank you for the contest!

Wonderfully written - I like on my floating island - makes one feel gypsy like and able to move where they feel like - a solitary lifestyle that is preferred - maybe a lost soul.. expressed well.

Yip, spot on! Solitary lifestyle preferred ... No lost soul here - free spirited, maybe. Thank you, glad you liked it.
