Redemption

Peeling, fading, fragmented residue,

crumbling, falling, eroding away.

Rewinding over and over again,

trapped between that time and present day.

Memories probed, but unsuccessfully,

no further inkling of anything more.

Dark menacing anger thrashes around,

with each attempt to open that door.

Hostile, dangerous brutal attacks,

increase in strength and frequency.

Terror real, but mystery remains,

~what the meaning behind this could be.

Sudden soft light whispers knowingly,

that brings repressed memories to mind.

Whispers expound into clarity,

the action that's needed to unbind.

Revisit that day and open the door,

forgive the child that is trapped there.

They bear no fault for what happened that day,

show you now understand and do care.

Peeling, fading, fragmented residue,

explodes and is finally blown away.

Pressure released, darkness expelled,

redemption brought the light back to day.

Brilliant take on the prompt picture....you paint with a depth of emotional understanding reaching the point in order to release the child from such horrific event finally bringing freedom. I walk this journey as you directed me and felt the heartbreak emotion. Your lines expressive with imagery that flows from the page forming the picture in my head. Congratulations on the green bling

Wow this is awesome! You have given some extreme depth to the picture.. Your words well choosen give a sense of wonderment to the uneasiness of what is happening. Seems to have come around to facing what we choose not to but knowing that is the only way we can move forward and as you put it be release of the tourment. Amazing!!! I sit astounded again by your creative talent.. There is a saying think outside the box and your definately think outside the box..
