This is to say goodbye

to all the betrayal we've endured

no more forbidden desires

our friendship has matured.

 

Betrayal once our friend

now long gone in shame

we will no longer

take all of the blame.

 

It's time to let go

of all the empty lies

one final wave to betrayal

and bitter dusted goodbyes.

    I believe I mentioned my disdain for unmetered rhyme. It's nothing personal. It's just that I dislike rhyming poetry when I can't tell how it's supposed to flow, what the rhythm's suppoosed to be, etc. On the whole, however, I did like the subject on which you wrote. You were able to convey your thoughts and emotions very well. Thank you for entering my contest.
