Last night before I went to sleep,
I met a poem newly born;
Of quatern form, and beauty deep,
But look what I did find this morn.
I met a poem newly born,
Ah! What a lovely thing to meet;
Sweet rhymes did all its ends adorn,
Four times a verse did it repeat.
Of quatern form, and beauty deep,
And entered in a test of form;
Alas, the rules it failed to keep -
A sweet Retourne it failed to form.
But look what I did find this morn -
The sort of thing I love, and how!
Once more a treasure newly born -
Last night's event's a poem now...

Heh. Nice. Witty and flowing. This write brings what might seem to be an embarrassing story into a thing of beauty. Lovely. Best of luck!

Ah, a picture perfect example of how to make a quaint little rhyme. So what if it wasn't perfect, it rolls right off the tongue!

Very good stuff!
As information to readers I entered this contest and misremembered the rules for a retourne writing a quatern instead Azgar very kindly, and very politely, pointed out my error.
This poem refers to my efforts, I am honoured.
