Homecoming dance as my heart
would float in clouds, to sail the sky.
Touch her hand and waist, I glide
there lost beyond hope, almost a lover.
Slow music and her soft touch etch my
memory of that night. I bury my face
in the blazer, I clutch the perfumed scent.
Embraces shared with another, almost a lover.
Her beauty with blue eyes, tanned
and slim figure. I grin to rejoyce that
I have those lips to taste, I shyly
savor her voice to join a heart of fire.
Her forgiveness lost, almost a lover.
Dreams are filled in fantasy, I missed
her tears in the dark as I hold her in a
magic shell, both, were almost a lover.
