I left you that night feeling enchanted and aroused
walking around town with you I felt myself lift and I knew, as sparks flew,
that we were about to embark on something sweet.
In the park I remember your enthusiasm and the sweep of fireflies that surrounded us,
it was heaven and we were it's breathe.
sometimes I wish I could return to those times, when you were mine
and when I cry, butterflies dance on my cheeks,
for such a love deep as ours, never dies.
but like the ocean does rise and fall
so do we in the gentle speckled light of our desire
which burns like a parade of fireflies in the summertime air,
it dances like blue butterflies on the cheeks of those in longing
it glows like a heart that's been loved.
