Just last night you walked into my dreams
Oh, why can't delusion be as it seems?
Since you've left, your eyes are all I see
Hauntingly auburn, staring lovingly at me
Until the day I die, I promised you my heart
And I never would have dreamed that you'd tear it apart
Just last night I felt your lips on mine
Of course, I knew I must have lost my mind
Such a sweet taste, like a shock through my veins
Holding me close, kissing me in the rain
Until I wake up, I can live in pretend
And remember how you loved me back then
Just last night I woke without someone to care
Once upon on a time, there'd been some love there
Soft whispers in my ear fill my pretty head
Hearing your soft voice, I live like the walking dead
Under an old moon, you asked me to be your wife
And then, how cold of you, you walked out of my life
Author notes
I chose the first option, and sort of the third.

Guys can suck
Wow i totally relate to this. i love your word choices which help weave this piece beautifully like Hauntingly auburn that gave me shivers and this poem goes deep and profound with its expressings
Just last night you walked into my dreams
Oh, why can't delusion be as it seems?
Love it
Until I wake up, I can live in pretend
And remember how you loved me back then
Love it
Until the day I die, I promised you my heart
And I never would have dreamed that you'd tear it apart
