I Will Wait

A year I would spend,
For just one more sight
Of your sparkling smile,
Your radiant eyes.

Each month I spend
Wishing away
The loneliness that comes
With each passing day.

Each week your visage
Pervades my thoughts,
Raising my hopes
When all else could not.

Each day I stare into the sky,
Wondering where you'll be
And knowing in my heart and soul
You're staring back at me.

Each hour is filled with thoughts of you
Careening through my head,
But peacefulness enters my heart and soul
By the soothing warmth they shed.

Every minute I live,
I live to see
The moment when again
Our eyes may meet.

Each second seems an eternity
When I cannot see you,
But an eternity is not so long to wait
For a love you know is true.
