It Was Love.

Her radiant hazel eyes lock onto his
creating a spiral of infatuation
that barges its way throughout the crowded room;
their souls are melded into one
before a simplistic hello escapes
their anxious throats
crammed with concealed beliefs
on how true love doesn't exist.

He was obnoxious & sarcastic
disguising his emotions with his irresistible mockery
while everyone chimed in
with a balanced scale of laughter;
his heart was always in the right place
holding a steady beat
as fatal attractions obscured his conception
& forced him to take a chance

he had fallen in love
with a bright young girl
who planted happiness & pure bliss
carefully inside of his forsaken memory
...he knew of the chance of losing himself
in her vibrant touch
or a kiss from her angel-like lips

[but it didn't matter]

for she was all he wanted
to wake up to in the morning
as the sun shined through the
resonant windows
and lit up her genuine face

maybe they were young
& significantly naive
for putting forth so much effort
in a relationship that was likely
to fade slowly with the ticking of the clock
& could end abruptly
in less than seconds

either way
it was love

and even if it were to end tomorrow
their memories were the favorite wasted years
of their lives.

    Love it!

    Oh. My. God
    Fastastic!
Absolutly sweet, telling a story too.
    I love love love it.
One of the best poems I've ever read on young love, an excellent tale of letting go of your inhabitions.
Hmm... I'm using too many adjectives.
    Well, cant help it
    *bookmarking*

"and even if it were to end tomorrow
their memories were the favorite wasted years
    of their lives."

Well, we all hope our relationships can end on such a good note

And it's nice to think that we are capable of love, even when were young and not likely to end up together forever.

    Once again, loved it

    Excellent

This poem is a perfect way of describing a young relationship.

    "either way
    it was love
and even if it were to end tomorrow
their memories were the favorite wasted years
    of their lives."

I love this ending to the poem it just sums up the whole thing beautifully, well done.

This is definitely the sort of poem I was looking for in my contest.

    Good Luck

    Wow, this was good

Maybe I should stop giving my opionion in coments because it's probably becoming redundant.
Anyway, this really painted a picture in my mind. Though I'm blind and can't see most images on this site, your poetry tends to either recreate or form your own image.

Sometimes two heartless souls can reach eachother and create a cherub; somehow, the bumble bee that stings and the flowerbud that causes hayfever make a beautiful love and emerges honey.

Such a beautiful, hopeful and somewhat sad at the same time, write. I feel every word and I would love to know that someone I dated would cherish the memories of us together, but it seems my ex's all hate me.

    Awwwww

Hoe, my god this is AMAZING!!!!!! I usually don't like love poems cause they're all the freaking same, but this was beautiful and original.
I especially liked how you wrote it from HIS perspective or his thoughts or whatever. Unique touch.

*his heart was always in the right place
    holding a steady beat
as fatal attractions obscured his conception
& forced him to take a chance*

I lalaLOVED [I definitely stole your word, haha, sorry] those linesss. I don't know what it is about them, except I do know that they are creative and captivating and just so beautiful...

*in a relationship that was likely
to fade slowly with the ticking of the clock*

Woww, those words were just so powerful! And true. Especially of teenagers, today, goodness!

    *either way
    it was love
and even if it were to end tomorrow
their memories were the favorite wasted years
    of their lives.*
Definitely my favorite part of all. THE RIDE IS ALWAYS WORTH IT -- I'm still going with my own motto on things, lol

I like how even though the relationship might not have lasted forever, you still ended the poem looking at only the bright side. YOU ARE VERY TALENTED MY DAHLING.
