Blue waters once again begin to turn~
Swirling along gently into life’s passing stream
Tiny leaves ride upon the soft ripples
In search of one last ride
Casting shadows upon the moss
Natures perfect moments in afterglow~
Prelude to nightfall
In sunsets sherbet skies
Wisps of cloud
Fade into black velvet
Our souls grow old
and of the years
we once thought were gold
In truth were only sallow
We ponder over tarnished soul
How we’ve grown so old
Lightly we tread past murky waters
Most of which we caused ourselves
Dare I ask for ~
This second chance
to wipe the slate clean
Expose the marble that lies between
Perhaps someday~
Our lives will be written in pastel chalk
In rich shades of crimson
With the silent promise of passion
I laid eyes just once
On the perfect rose~
Stood in admiration
Of her choice~
To rest beside petunia
rather than remain in her own circle
Her very leaf and thorn defy all others
In neglected bed
She was left to weep
Just as nature tends to follow its own path
In its quest for water, one last current to ride
So too, do the lonely souls~
Waiting to share just one more dance
beside the waters edge.
With lives written in pastel chalk~
Please tell me what you think

My heart is fluttering...this is just precious and enchanting. The imagery is uncanny. I felt as if I was beside the waters...longing for that dance. The last line is brilliant.
Our lives are written as in pastel chalk, so easily washed away and lost in the passing of time.
Sigh, I could go on and on. This put me in a reflective mood Sis.
I love you~

This is definitely one of your best, Sis.
I don't need a Dollar Store magic 8 ball to tell me that this really is penned in gold. I guess I really believe that each and every one of us deserves a second chance to rewrite our lives. Sometimes, it's written in that chalk that just washes away with a midday rain; other times, it's written with a permanent marker, and the memories end up being the proverbial thorn in our sides. Sometimes, the most difficult question to ponder is the one about taking chances and deciding to let "nature follow its path."

A fabulous, flowing tribute to the eternal giver of life, the Sea and light. A cornucopia of metaphoric assimilations of the senses and emotions. very nice!

I admire the flow of this and the continuation,
in parallels to the natural order of things.
Water here symbolizes the currents of constant
change; colours~our emotions and flowers as
physical love. "Expose the marble that lies between" seemed to carry special significance between. As an
unbreakable bond, edges smoothed by intimate knowledge traded through the years. Veins exposed but surface
cool to the touch. I don't know, I seem to read quite
a bit in just a single line. Blue

I worried that this write was a bit longer than I had wanted.
Just seem to claim its own life when I began it.
Reading between the lines is a wonderful thing...smiles
And you have done very well here...
I adore your comments...
Thank you my dear,
Many blessings
