Across the hill a brighter day
than the ones I've come to know...
the darkness rose
I quelled the darkness,
swallowed in my own disaster.
We choked on pearls and harsher laughs
but danced in sunset's glow,
skimming o'er lines in the sand,
fire born again...
and through the broken glass we flew
---hold tight to my hand---
and grasped each other tighter, twirling up into the
gold
that came and streamed through my fingertips and through the world.
