~~Springtime In The Meadow~~( Bronze Trophy)

Missing image
The meadow in the Springtime is a wondrous place
When Mother Nature dons her most beautiful face
The sun smiles brightly, the earth turns green
And old winter's snows are nowhere to be seen

The meadow lark's song on an early spring morn
announces to all that a new season is born
The wildflowers bloom and show off their colors
among the animals are lots of new mothers

Mrs.Rabbitt brings her babies out for all of us to see
an opossum peeks,as his tail hangs on a tree
frisky chipmunks play a game of hide and seek
little foxes chase each other in the warm spring breeze

Ducklings waddle down to the pond for a swim
baby skunks can't find anyone to play with them
Bluebirds and butterflies flit through the warm spring air
finding ample food without a worry or care

The brook in the meadow has also came alive
silver minnows jump and emerald frogs dive
The meadow is truly a lovely place in the spring
when Mother Nature brings new life to everything

Your meadow is full of life, but my son's dog wouldn't know to leave them alone. I love the feel of new energy in the depictions, and especially, the gentle playfulness baby animals bring to mind. ~ Karen

Ah, what a happy scene you depict,
a mode of pure happiness, a respite
from the storm pounding the shores
    and the political mishaps that
    fill our news screens.

This perfect piece takes the reader,
    visually, back to animation styles
    portraying Bambi and Snow White.

    A pleasure to read!

I like this. You bring the meadow alive. The rhyme works well. The numerous creatures you describe which live in the meadow make this a charming poem!
